WWOOF in Japan
WWOOF is a system in which meals and a place to stay are exchanged for “power”. This system involves exchanging meals and a place to stay with power, knowledge and experience without any financial transactions taking place.
Hosts and WWOOFers are friends, just like family. We connect people looking for help with work and household chores with those people who would like to take care of the environment and organic farms as well as entering into exchange with other people, learning about farming and experiencing different ways of living in places where nature is still abundant.
We at Aizome Asamoto Workshop are currently accepting WWOOFers. WWOOF stands for World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms. WWOOF connects hosts involved in organic farming with people who want to help out and learn about farming. *Organic farming involves the growing of crops without pesticides or chemical fertilizers. This agricultural form gives consideration to people, animals and the environment.
This method of farming involves a lot more effort than using pesticides and, in many cases, large machines are not used so workers are needed. We are registered with WWOOF and offer meals as well as a place to stay. Hosts. Organic farming is the focus. We lead a more grounded life and accept a diverse range of people from all walks of life. People who register at WWOOF and experience adventures with WWOOF. People who offer their “power”. People who help hosts. Travellers. Learners. Friends like family or close friends of the host. WWOOFers are not workers or employees. WWOOFers help and live with the host.
